y dose my truck keep blowing ecm like they r candy it,s n 89 chevy tracker 4x4 plezz help
-
stupid question but is the ecm have the right numbers dont know if this makes a difference but thought i would ask also might have a wiring short
-
How are they blowing? I've seen a few lately with holes in the centre near the connector, just looks to be age related. If you are blowing good ECUs then you probably have a short in the wiring somewhere.
-
the one cap looks dun but i changed it n it still dosent work every thing els still comes on but the ejector dosent
-
Have you got any test equipment, an oscilloscope or similar?
-
no i had it tested by some one else n he saide it was all good
-
Let me be the devil's advocate here - accurate information aids diagnosis.
1 - How many ECUs has it blown/times have you repaired the ECU?
2 - What did you change - the cap or the ECU?
3 - How did the other person test it?
4 - If he put your ECU in to another vehicle and it worked, what's the probability that you have a fault elsewhere?
In short - your initial post suggests you have replaced/repaired the ECU several times, however, the follow up posts, suggest otherwise.

i blow through 3 ecm,s then tryed to fix the 3rd one in one year n the one i got fixed i tryed it in my wife,s tracker first n it dident work if this help,s

Most of those ECUs are shot now, if its not been rebuilt within the last 10 years then its probably on its way out anyway. You should check your wiring for shorts but with ECUs that old its best to start with a recon. unit.

ok thanks for all the help
