Hmm...

Looks like they're also going to have an SX4.

Guess we'll see how this turns out tonight.   :-\

I love British Top Gear but I refuse to watch the train wreck of the USA version. I tried the first season but was completely disgusted by it.

FYI, they rolled the Sammi on purpose,,,,,,in a few years time you will understand why.

They did it just for dramatic footage of course. It was a given that they were going to roll it over.

vehicles capable of offroad travel are being attacked as we speak, if it was left up to the leftie granola crunchers they would be outlawed.

That episode was the first one I've seen, and I won't be watching again.  They didn't prove anything, other than the fact that the Sammy isn't a race car!  I never would have figured that one out on my own!  The show seemed like something a bunch of drunken frat boys would have put together.  Of course, now there will be even more uninformed idiots out there telling us that our vehicles aren't safe, yadda yadda yadda.

Yeah, I have every episode of every season including season 18. I know its all set up and fake but it makes me laugh, and they show some cool cars. The American version tr's to hard to capture what they don't have, The interaction of the British hosts. I had hopes for the Australian version, but it went downhill after the 2nd season and seems to have been cancelled.

There is a interesting Oregon connection to the Columbia special. I guess a local shop actually flew down there to build the cruiser. Thats what I heard anyway.

Every time a tv program that shows any life and following are always cloned and as with any cloning there is a loss in fidelity to the original.

I couldnt watch after they put the Sami on a road course(WTF?) and rolled it on purpose.   I've driven my stock-suspended Sami over 40,000 miles, much of it "in a spirited fashion" on mountain roads, and never had it scare me once.  Of course, I understand what it is, a tall, short-wheelbase vehicle with an antique suspension, and don't push it once it has heeled over.

I find it hard to suspend my disbelief with the original show, but with the US version, I find it impossible.

The funny thing nobody cares to realize about the whole Consumer Report debacle is that after the lawsuit got filed and the real info started to surface, it turned out that CR actually had to drastically increase the speed that they drove the Sammy through the avoidance test in order to get it to lift a wheel. It actually resisted lifting its wheel better the the Ford Explorer did. And many of the test drivers actually said that after the wheel lifted and they corrected, the Samurai regained directional stability far quicker then many of the other test vehicles.

Gotta love it when sensationalism replaces reality and common sense...
