Title: WTB Power window parts
Post by: bentparts on March 06, 2012, 09:15:27 AM
Just putting out a feeler to see if anyone has any power window parts for a 95 trackick 2 door. I'm thinking of adding power to my windows and would need everything, regulators, wiring and switches. Let me know what you have. Thanks, Mike.

I have everything from my 4 door that I just parted out.

Switches, Regulators, some of the immediate wiring (near the plugs and such), Power Locks too.

I actually picked up a aftermarket kit but after examining it I came to the conclusion it wouldn't last long. It uses plastic gears to drive the window crank shaft. Not a bad idea in itself, but the quality of the gears was suspect IMO. The teeth were very shallow and looked like one accidental over run would strip them. I sent it back. If it weren't for the low quality plastic gears, the rest of the kit looked great for the price, $95. Included everything, multiple switches and combinations, wiring harnesses to fit just about anything, and enough of those plastic gears to make up any combination, I mean there was a LARGE bag of gears. I did find on ebay, new, stock aftermarket replacement power window regulators for 2 door Trackicks for only $59 ea. Of course there are the switches and wiring to figure out.  I'm slowly loosing interest, though it would be nice to not have to streach over to open the passenger window. Good thing these trucks are small enough for me to still be able to do that

...actually, it can be done with the 5-wire switches and relays, but I have usually done with 3-wire switch and this arrangement... (PDL the same with cheap actuators, btw)

Hey John, thanks again. I'm glad I got to take a look at those universal ones at least, but it did cost me $14 for that look. I have a bag full of relays, so wouldn't need to buy any of those. Those switches are CHEAP!!! I think I'm gonna spring for it. Thanks for the schematic too. I WILL be calling you  when I run into wiring issues. But really, I should be able to figure this out.  ::)

Aren't those just momentary , on/off/on switches? If so can any 3 wire momentary on/off/on switch work? Reason I'm asking is I have a bunch of those too. same ones used to run shopping center register belts.

yes, momentary
spdt

afa switches, anything similar would work--
vw, audi, porshe, all use the same & are nice...or buy the type I showed you, with or w/o surface mount housing, or cut two into center console w/dremel & 1/8" bit to snap in...

afa pdl, just get the cheapest you can; looks like 6 bucks ea. or so (shipped!)
we put hundreds of these in = no prob (...just trust me!)
you might put one switch in console; why would you need two?

might order a cheap remote keyless entry at the same time so it'll be neater than going back in later...

One ( or both ) switches in the console was my plan, easy to reach for either driver or pass. Cool, thanks for the tips!

I have a PAIR (R&L) of power regulator assemblies from a 2-door. I think I recall having the left door switch and door panels also. Shoot me an offer for the regs and I'll dig into my stash to see what all I have.

If you want a factory look, you can put the switches in the center console.  The 4 doors have the rear window switches in the center console.  I also believe the x90s have the power window switches in the center console.
The pic below shows a center console that has the factory switch assembly in it.

Well that was the idea Sky, but I've yet to hear back from the dude. I'll probably just go with the ones I found on ebay, new $59 each + shipping. At least being new they'll have a warrenty and probably work.

well the solution to that is a sexy passanger..... and have them "roll down" your window too!
