im looking to spending about 1k on a stereo system.. was thinking waketower speakers? we go on alot of rides and just drink beer a cruise so im looking for a system that will put out some good sound to the crowd.

Dont worry about going for a high fidelity system, with all the trail noise it couldnt be appreciated.
Do you have rear seats or do you run as a 2 seater? How much room available for an amp etc??

I dont have rear seats so room isnt a problem... however i do run through deep mud and water so id like to mount everything to the oem roll bar. its not a daily driver and im looking for a system that is head turning good loud sound

You wont get that kind of sound from anything that can mount to the factory rollbar. I have seen the basket rack that mounts a little above the top of the siderails used to hold a radio box. Create a amp/sub/speaker box that is water proof that fits in the basket, the box can be MDF with a layer of glas or kevlar and then bedlined. Run your choice of head unit and it wouldnt hurt to have a set of tweeters mounted to your Apillars.

I have 400 watts run through a decent head unit, 2 6x9's in the back and 2 5's in the front. This is in a tintop Tracker though, and the body is well insulated and the speakers mounted solidly in hardwood in the rear. The system has excellent punch and clarity, without distortion. I wasn't putting together a system to entertain a crowd though, so you may need 2X the power I'm using. I do in fact LOVE having a great sound system on the trails and turn it up loud enough so I can't hear anything else sometimes when I'm alone. Or even when I'm not
