My Dads retired now, but had an automotive shop for nearly 40 yrs. We still have the shop and just use it now for our personal builds.
Anyways he has lying around the shop a Jeep 2.5L 4cyl fuel injected engine w/50K miles and the matching manual 5 spd tranny and transfer case. He also has a Chevy Blazer w/a 2.8L V6, auto tranny and transfer case (not sure of the miles).
I did a search and saw where the 2.8L has been talked about alot w/conversions but most threads are not favoralbe to this engine swap d/t the underpower of this little V6 and the probs thats been associated w/the motor over the yrs.
Couldn't find any reviews using the Jeep 4 banger. BUT, for the price(FREE) I can't pass either up.
Which would yall recommend?

The 2.8 Has definite possibilities... Lots of upgrades available , fairly light , fits nicely.
Believe it or not , it is one of the Go To conversions for the MGB. Check there web sites for great info.......
The Jeep (Puget) mated to an ax5 and 231 is a fair jeep power plant. Week ( and I mean very week ) transmition...driver side drop, set up.... Wont fit with out axle conversion........
I'd opt for the 2.8 , Chevy S-10 2wd tranny , Zuke T case .........Boxcar...

dont do the jeep 2.5 swap! i have too many jeeps... i dont like them any more :P but in all seriousness it's a good little motor. the tranny sucks and the t-case is driver drop which sucks though.
