looking for a how to for a fold down tailgate for an 87  sammy

idk if you figured that out or not but i've been wanting to do the same thing. they sell long hinges i thought about bolting those to the tailgate and then finding the short limiter straps off a truck, probably an s-10 or ranger. if you still have decent stock hinges you could probably reuse them just put them on the inside of the tailgate.

Seems like a cool mod... would definitely have to be aftermarket brackets to make it work, you should be able to allow it to use the same release as stock and just hinge on a different point. I haven't done it and probably wont since I plan on just welding my tailgate shut.... but cool idea at least.
