Hey all,
My entire exhaust is pretty much pooched on my Sidekick. I went to my local muffler shops but they told me I am basically up a creek, for getting the converter. Just wondering what my options are for tracking one down? When I look them up on the net it shows them with one flange and when I find one with two flanges it says it is for a 92. it has got me puzzled Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They make "generic" converters that will work fine.

A. Find another shop to do your work.
B. Ebay has tons of generic cats cheap.

With out knowing which motor you have it makes it kinda of hard, the 8 valve has a downpipe/converter combo. I just ordered a Bosal converter for my 8 valve from Rockauto.com and other than the "Packaging" it has been great. Along with a 2 inch catback I had built for it shortly before installing the cat, the truck runs better than even after I rebuilt the top end.

Ya find a different shop. most shops wont even bring in the style that are bolt in because they are so expensive. cheaper to install universals if possable.

Thanks for all the input fellas! It is funny but I was given the idea a little while back that it was so hard to find, but was able to find one today at our local Canadian Tire, who knew ??? Little pricey at $370 but it saves a lot of hassle by shooting over there to pick it up.

Well, at least it is bolt in. I would check with a local exhaust shop and see how much it would cost to just have a full 2" exhaust put in. Might be cheaper then just the cat.

i know here in canada (so cut the price in half for you guys)
its 100 for the cat (universal)
and the mid pipe is like 45 bucks
muffler 79 bucks
tailpipe 28 bucks
im not joking...
i did a full 2" exhaust with no cat for 250. all custom bent pipe other then the overaxle was a modified mustang part.
