If the 94 is a samurai tranny, then it will fit/work fine.  A sidekick tranny will not be a direct interchange and will require intermediate shaft changes and crossmember mods and possibly tranny tunnel mods.
The easiest way to tell what 5th gear ratio a samurai tranny has is to look at the fill and drain plugs.  If they are square drive, then the tranny has a .865 5th gear ratio.  If they are hex head, then it has a .795 5th gear ratio.
