Title: front wheel bearing ???
Post by: zuki709 on April 06, 2012, 04:01:35 PM
Can you rebuild the front hub assembly for a 01 tracker or do you have to buy the whole unit? I can not find a listing for just the bearing but was wondering if anyone here has one. It just seems like a wast to be throwing away a whole hub every time your bearing goes.

Have you checked out Rockauto.com, for example (Brake/wheel hub)?  For the difference in cost and labor involved an assembly would be "more better" IMHO.

i beleve its a press in bearing, press out the old and press in the new one and you are all good to go. dont forget to change the seals at the same time if they have one, i never had to change one yet

I replaced the hub assembly after. When I got the old one out I took it a part and the hub is actually machined to be the outer race of the bearings. So I guess that is why I could not find anything about just replacing the bearing and not the whole hub. What a bummer  >:(
