I'm in the process of buying my first Sammy. The owner has just put a 5" Spidertrax spring over axle lift, Ranchero shocks, Z-Link steering bar and Super Swamper 31 x 11.5 tires on rock crawler rims. Nice looking Sammy:) Here's the problem, he is telling me that the bumpers are off because the tires rubb them. What do I need to do and how much will it cost to fix it?
Thank you,
Jon

With a 5 " lift, the tires shouldn't rub the bumpers. He may have a RUF conversion on it as well. This would position your front axle 1" forward and possibly cause the rubinf issue.
A "Z" link is just about the worst thing next to stock that can be done to your steering geometry with a SPOA. It will bump steer like a pig.....
I'd recommend a high steer conversion.....JMHO....
If you can, post some pictures of the rig and I can be more help.....Boxcar...

Thank you Boxcar, but I just bought another Sammy. 1992 with only 56k miles. The man I'm buying it from has all of the maintenance showing every oil change from new. No rust, hard and soft top, new tires with a small spring lift. This Sammy is going to be a great start for me. Thank you for your quick reply.
