Post by: FireCkrEd on April 29, 2012, 08:28:24 PM
I found a great deal on a xfercase from an 89-95 auto trans Kick. will it work on a manual trans Kick ?

The only difference in them is the speedo gears in them.  Your speedo won't read right, if you swap a tcase in from a trackick that had different axle gears than your current one (if the tcase is from a 4 door with the auto, then it would have had 5.12 axle gears, which is what your 5 speed trackick likely has).
That is also assuming your trackick is an 89-95 (89-95 trackick tcases have a 26 spline rear output shaft....96 and up tcases have a 16 spline rear output shaft).

Thank you Sky, I jumped on it since mine needs a re-build. The guy said its for an 89-95 so I figured it would fit but it does have 16 spline output shaft.... Sky got any 95 plus driveshafts ???? I still have to get my 4.24 gears in it and remove the detent ball for a twin stick so I still have a bit of work to do on it before I can use it.

I think I might have a 16 spline slip yoke around (you can swap slip yokes on your existing driveshaft).

I am out of town right now.  Give me a day or two and I'll look to see what I have and get back to you.

If your tearing into the t-case to swap the gears why not just change your output shaft at the same time?

Im going to take the old case and the new one to Petroworks. They did the gears in the old one.
