Who's running toyota axles on their samurai? I am looking to upgrade and wondered if any years work better than others. Thanks

79-85 are all the same with the exception of the housings. 84-85 have a truss under the axle that goes all the way under the spring pad. 79-83 stopped 1" short of that. On any Toy swap you need to raise the dr. side pad 3/8" to equal the height on the pass side. you also have to redrill the perches 3/8" inward to accomidate the spring width difference. The rear you just need to move spring pads in 1" on each side. rear brake lined are compatible, fronts you can use rear Toys for the extension and Drive shafts can be hooked up easily enough with a set of my adapters.

I heard 84's are practically bolt on. Check this.

Those ratios all depend on weather it was a auto or stick and tire size, toy all supplied 4:88 and 4:56 in the newer trucks based on auto or manual and v-6
The most common ratio is the 4:10 and 4:11
