Title: help me please, really ruff idle

ok so my truck decided to have a really ruff idle, i checked and cleaned the distributer, spark plugs and my egr valve.and still is ruff
what are soem things that i can check to see if they are the problem to this??
1992 geo tracker 1.6L 8 valve engine

My 16V has spontaineously idled rough twice since I bought it. Both times it was a plug wire.

Fuel filter?  Bad Gas?  How many miles?  Is it possible your timing belt jumped a tooth?

well there are 226k kilomerters on the engine, i did the timing belt about 20k kilometeres ago i was thinking fuel filter too, but wouldn't that effect my driving performance too?

Yeah, you would probably have driving issues, too.

I would think that even the spark plug wire would cause driving issues...  How's the air filter?

Id check your compression. I bet you have a burnt valve.  :-/
