i had to lean mine considerably.
currently i'm running 135 main jets, 180 primary air jet, 170 sec. air jet, 45 primary idle jet, 40sec. idle jet.
i have ordered 175 air jets and intend to install them.
this is much leaner than what came in "the kit".

i get them thru carbs direct.
try www.webercarbsdirect.com (http://www.webercarbsdirect.com).
i started with a "jet pack", but found that came with jets i can't use, and the ones that fit were still too rich.
the little storage box ain't bad though........
i went 180/170 on my air jets 'cause that's what i had. i look forward to the 175s i've ordered.
note that this seems leaner than what others have reported, but she is running better than ever, so i am happy.
i have the manual choke version, so it's easy to open up on the engine.

are the 180 primary air jet and the 170 sec. air jet the same thing just a smaller size

the primary barrel is the one with the idle mix screw.
the main jets are in the float bowl, and the air jets are in the top of the main body.
increasing the size of the air jet leans out the mixture as does reducing the main jet size.
the idle jets screw in the sides and can be increased or decreased some to balance the fuel mix off idle.

i spent alot of time messing around with this in an attempt to smog(sucessful). it surprised me, seeing the results on the smog machine, how rich it was with "stock" jetting.
interesting also- i installed an air/fuel ratio guage w/a sensor in the header collector and have kinda learned what it is telling me.
unfortunately i got a narrow band afr. i now want a wide band one. narrow band is probably ok with fuel injection, but i think carbs are too crude and the narrow band gets blanked out of range.

good call, boxcar. i use a pressure regulator set at 2lbs- i think 3psi is considered max.
i have run without it and saw no problem, but mabe at high rpm there may be some excess pressure?
