Title: bad ECM?
Post by: KJMac on May 20, 2012, 08:57:30 PM
Could use help please!
Today, while my wife was driving back from Sand Lake, the check engine light came on and was running a little different. I was driving the pickup and trailer so I didn't know about it until we got home. I shut the tracker off to check codes and it is not responsive to any jumper position! I did the battery disconnect and switch behind the speaker. I have done a lot of searching and it appears the computer is toast!
I just wanted some input from you good folks on here! It ran good at the dunes and the turbo made a huge difference. I found this out when I lost the wastegate clip off of the turbo so the first trip out I had no boost! Lol. I put a short chunk of wire around the groove and twisted it tight. The 8 lbs of boost out of the Garrett T25 was night and day difference. (as I knew it would)

Thank you guys and gals.

did you check all your grounds; vacuum hoses; air filter; MAF; IAC; TPS adjust?; "Sand Lake"= something's dirty?

Sorry to say anything obvious.

Good luck.

I did have a bad IAC so I replaced it. When anything has gone bad it threw the light on but now it isn't responding at all. I checked the vacuum lines but not all the sensors. I haven't witnessed a bad sensor making the computer not respond. I have 4 grounds that are clean! Weird. I think I will pull the computer and look inside! Thank you for the input. I will clean the MAF too!
