Title: 16v timing help pls
Post by: exstreamski on June 08, 2012, 11:27:16 PM
So, i changed the head gasket on my 94 16v sidekick. I re-installed the camshaft sprocket acording to the instructions in the FSM. ( E on sprocket at top for TDC with the pin in the E position) The engine won't start and now I'm second guessing the timing because I just pulled an engine from a 92 at my local pick-a-part for future rebuild and it has the cam sprocket in the opposite position. which one is right? neither has any binding when I turn the crankshaft. Any expertise would be great thanks--Nick

I would check with the FSM.

When you hook up the timing light how far off are you?
