Title: Need engine for 92 Sidekick
Post by: Daylight on June 11, 2012, 06:46:21 PM
Help, I killed my engine! Popped a hose at 80mph passing a truck and seriously over heated the poor thing. Anyone got a good one for sale. If so, how much, where is it and what is it's condition? ???

Ok - I'm in Denver.
I have a good 8 valve 1.6  block and head - good leak down test results that is.
Came out of a 1991 Tracker.
Motor only - no intake - would need a replacement distributor case part # 11161-60A00 as the one on this motor was broken in the accident that totaled the truck.
Also would need a plastic timing belt cover as the fan cut into the one on the motor.

$195 picked up - $250 put on a pallet and dropped off at a carriers dock in metro Denver.

Shucks!
(And how often do we get to use the word "Shucks"?)
The only other motor I have is an 8 valve 1.8 from a 97 Sport Kick.

Equally Dumbo here.
I don't know. It is set up for manual gearbox and supposedly has a rather new clutch.
Hopefully more enlightened minds will stop by and help us both!

Talk about Dumbo... I heard timing chain and thought the 1.8 was 8 valve. It's 16.
I asked about the possibility of a swap on the other forum and was advised that it would require everything - I take it that includes the transmission. The one I have is bad.
Sounds like more work than it'd be worth.

OFCOURSE it would! It's my luck and it sucks. That would have been great. Upgrading to a bit more engine has been a dream for awhile now.

Ok, Thanks for the efforts and good luck to you!
