hello
can anyone give me a detail list over what i had to be aware of when i give my zuki a 4" bodylift??
if you got pics of the prosess i want that to??
The cars is a -92 sidekick.

I just bought the Calmini 3" body lift instead of fabing something. Some people have made 4" lifts but I dont know what they encountered going that extra 1". With the 3" the steering shaft and t-case shifter needs to be extended, the Trans shifter needs to be bent to clear the body tub, filler hoes extended and a few other things I cant remember now. For the price, it was worth spending a little x-tra cash and buying the kit that trying to build it (for me any way)

It shouldn't be too much more difficult that the Calmini 3" body lift.
Like Zukipilot said, there are many things that must be extended. The shifters (t-case and transmission; if you have a 5 spd), the gas filler and vent, the steering shaft, etc.
One thing you need to keep in mind is that the back 6 body mounts have fixed studs, meaning that you'll have to use a 1" spacer on top of a 3" piece of square tubing to get 4". The front two will require new, longer bolts, and a few hockey pucks stacked up would probably work up there.

I agree with Zukipilot, I do not know what else might be an issue with the extra 1", but I can think of the front brake like being a major issue, it is tight now with the three " body lift and the three " calmini, you will have to move the hard brake line down on the body and remount it.
I wish someone would come out with an extended front line for the sidekick, I find it a touch bit tight for trail use.

I think you may have problems with the wiring. You will certainly have to disconnect a lot more stuff when you fit it cos you'll have to lift it something like 6" to get the spacers over the studs. Gear levers will be the main problem I should think. Not sure how easy it is to obtain 3" tubing over there, might be easier to go with 4" and put the 1" spacer inside. A trivial detail but I also had to replace the vacuum pipe to the MAP sensor. Over here just about any motorcycle dealer can make up braided brake lines to suit (maybe not a Harley dealer :P).

Wildgoody has a home built 4in body i think. but hes off to moab i think so it will be awhile before hes back online.

ok, thanks for answers, you now it will cost me about 400$ to ship a 3" Calmini to Norway, so i think i go for the home made version. My plan i to use 3 hockey pucks pr bolt, i think that wil be enough..

im doin my own kit out for 3x3" square tubing pretty soon
