Title: 1989 Suzuki Sidekick 1.6 8V Not Firing Up At Start
Post by: Blaker_99 on July 01, 2012, 10:40:20 AM
Hi everyone Im new here.  I have quite a bit of mechainical experience but i was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on my situation.  89 sidekick 1.6 8v standard 5 spd 170,000kms runs very well but heres my issue:

AFter the vehicle has been sitting for a bit of time 5-8hours when i go to start the engine it has lots of cranking power but doesnt want to start right away it usually takes 6-8 seconds for it to fire up. The battery is brand new as well as plugs and wires. AFter it has been started and run for a while and turned off it will start right back up no problem.  Any information would be greatly appreciated. I was planning on doing fuel filter today at some point.  Cheers.

Wont hurt to change the filter, but I dont think it has anything to do with this issue, I say that because the engine starts right up when warm, sounds like a cold start issue.
