Title: RRO coil kit UPGRADE!!!
Post by: nc_zuk on April 09, 2004, 02:40:27 PM
Well as some of you know the RRO original RRO coil spring setup (the one I have) had a very bad reputation for haveing a bad bushing design in the rear. Well RRO has created an upgrade to get rid of the problem. I'll be posting the complete info here in the next 2 days as I finish it up. Right now this is what my drive way looks like. I sure hope that I get it back together in time  ;)

Hey thanks for the compliments! I really appreciate them.

The seats are RCI poly seats. You can get them from Jegs, Summit, or RCI themselves. I like them a lot too!!

Since I haven't really posted many pics of my Zuk I figured I would throw a few in here  ;)

That looks alot better, how does that new joint go together? is that black rubber piece in two parts and held in with c clips on each side??? more pic's please if you still have it appart, maybe you could lay the pieces out like they go together?  Thank's.

Well it is together. It is called a Johnny Joint. It is a large metal ball that has a bolt hole through it . The ball is sandwiched between 2 poly bushings and held in place on one sode bu a large wacher and the other side by a washer and C-clip. I'll get a pic of the assembly together for you.

I run the 165lb springs and the DT 8000 series shocks. I had the same problem and swapped the shocks and springs. It helped a lot!! I still have a good bit of body roll but I have gotten used to it ;D

LOL!!! Man, twice a year I strip that thing down and scrub off all the grime. Then I hit any rust with a flap disk and throw some paint on her. This week just happened to be the spring cleanup before another years worth of wheeling. I usus;;y inspect all the welds and make sure all is ok. I guess it's the soldier in me that makes me do it  ;D

it looks like the tin man took a huge shit all over the steel, judging by that weld in the first pic. ;)

Hey! I take offense to that because those welds are better than most of my stick welds! :)

Hey, those welds that you comment about were the first welds I had ever laid down. Yep they are sloppy. That was 1.5 years ago. I thnk if you look at the tabs for the upper link you will see that they are much better. The bottom line is they have held up quite well and therefore they are good welds  ;) It's always nice to hear someone elses smartass comment that doesn't even pertain to the original intent of the info posted. You da man!!  ::)

Oh, the diff guard is cut like that so that I can get a socket in there to take out the fill plug   ;)

Oh man you have no idea!!! I did all the work and it was UNDRIVABLE!!! I was freaking out. It was all over the road and I did almost roll it on the asphault. My wife said she saw AIR under a tire while she was behind me  :o What I had forgotten was that I rotated the front Boggers to the back and the pass frond tire didn't hold air (got a big ol' screw in it) So I had 14 psi in one rear tire and 4 psi in the other. The locker didn't like that very much and was pitching me all over the road when shifting. Anyway, a good friend asked me to check pressure and sure enough that is what it was. I aired her up and she drives like a dream again!!  ;)
