Title: Sammy front disc brakes
Post by: bentparts on July 08, 2012, 02:06:58 PM
This is gonna sound dumb, but anyone have a pic of how the stupid metal clips fit on the Sammy front discs? I have Sammy discs mounted on the rear of my Tracker in place of the drums. Love the disc brake power but the intermittent squeaking, which stops as soon as I touch the brakes, is annoying in the woods. I never put on the clips because I just couldn't figure out how they mounted to the brake.  ??? Yeah, seems simple but it's got me stumped.

I have discs in the back of my tracker and they don't squeak.. I know we didn't use those wear clips.. Maybe your caliper pistons are not retracting all the way or your disc isn't centered in the caliper....

Possible, I had a lot of issues with the TT kit and had to have a machinist buddy true all the parts. It doesn't squeak all the time, just a little chirp that stops as soon as I touch the brakes. I'm gonna have another look at em once it cools down a bit ( Fall  )

is your axle bent? Check the run out on the axle flange.. if it's out on one side hit it with a BFH..

Good idea Hutch. I like any repair that only involves a couple of tools, the primary being a BFH.  >:D
