Title: Just instaled jeffs 2" lift have a few questions!!!
Post by: ColtonP on July 14, 2012, 05:32:17 PM
I recently bought and installed jeffs 2 inch lift. My rides specs are(2000 chevy tracker,4door, jeffs 2" lift, 2.0 4 cylinder, 4x4,265/70/r16 on dick cepek rims (yes they rub), stock everything else.)

  My questions are as follows.

1. Do i need my sway bar??? After the install i could not get it to reconnect so i just took it off. I drove it down the road got up to about 35 didnt notice anything.
2. How important is it to remove the plastic spacer that are all ready in the rear? I forgot to remove them and now the ass sits a lil high but im ok with having some rake. The rear flexes wll enough that i will end up using the extra space any ways.

The swaybar can be quite controversial - if it's a daily driver or will see any highway use at all, I say refit it - a longer end link might make it easier.

When you were test driving, did you try turning corners?  Try a quick left/right/left or right/left/right manouver (keep the speed down please), for example one that you would have to make if a child darted out into the street in front of you. or if something fell off the back of a pickup truck in front of you.

X2  ! refit the sway bar ! I took mine off and hauled it to go wheeling and got and liked it , but when we got home I drove it to the store and had a young boy on a bike come out in front of me and almost lost it !

I drove for years without my sway bar and had no problems. You cannot drive like a madman but it is safe for normal driving. I also did not take the rubber spacers out in the rear and it was fine, a little high in the rear but no biggie.
