Title: Tire size 2002 Escudo/Vitara

2002 Escudo came with 235/60/R16's.  Have read that 215/70's are OK.  True??  Adds 6.7% to wheel diameter?  What about trying 235/70's?  Or /75's?

If I'm not mistaken the Vitaras came with 215/70R16 & the Grand Vitaras came with 235/60R16 - there's a 3% difference in tire size - the Escudo tire may depend on where the vehicle was sold.

I ran 225/75R16's on a '03 Grand Vitara and '02 XL7 with no issues.  The usual inner frame rub when turning hard but no big issue.  I hear it's slightly worse with the 235/70R16's but not much.  Same height but slightly wider.
