Title: switch under the dash what is it

i found a switch under the dash of my samurai i have a 87 hard top and a 86 soft top both samurais have this switch its under the dash just under the ignition switch a little ways back moves up and down anybody have any idea what thats for

egr light, if your engine light comes on flip the switch the other way and leave it there but only after pulling the codes from the computer first. the spedo trips the light about every 80,000 miles or so. do you like the american red white and blue wires?

I didn't know that you can pull codes on the early samurais. How is that done?

on mine you put a fuse in the bottom right open fuse slot and turn the key to the on position.
