Title: '95 tracker 1.6 16v crack between sleeves!
Post by: KJMac on August 28, 2012, 04:02:14 PM
Please help, the good people on Zukiworld!

Today I got the head pulled off of my (low mile) replacement 16v engine. The head Gasket was leaking water into 2 cylinders. There was a channel eatin through the compositions material and into the cylinder do to two headbolts that weren't tight enough! My question is, are the two hairline cracks between cylinders 1-2 and 3-4 going to cause me problems if I put this back together and run it? The sleeves aren't cracked just through the little strip of aluminum between the sleeves. I was hoping to do a copper Gasket and felpro studs and run it! I'm a Big Block Chevy guy so help with this would be great!

Thanks,
KJ

I have heard that crack is somewhat common and usually doesn't go very deep.  So people just ignore it and go on....and it doesn't seem to cause any problems....from what I have read.
