Hey Guys,
I do alot of browsing on this forum but don't post too much. There is a ton of great info and I want to thank you all.
I am looking for ECU/ECM pinouts for a 1995 2dr Kick 8V auto and also for a 96 16v 4Dr manual.
I want to swap the 96 OBDII engine and ecu into the 95 8V. Dosn't look like it's going to plug right in... Not that I expected it to.
Wiring diagrams would be great. I want to get all the info before I start the swap.
Thanks
Brandon

here you go:
-
ecoast...note that he is swapping from 8V to an 16V.
1579...you really need to just swap the whole wiring harness out. The sensor plugs and such are not the same on a lot of the various sensors between an 8V and 16V. Plus, they don't necessarily have all the same sensors, so you would be adding wires, splicing wires, etc.....it would turn into a real mess, IMO.

Search for Acksfaq, he has the 1996 FSM for download, the ECU stuff is in section 6.

x2 8v to 16v would be a full harness swap. Especially if it's a later model 96. BUT it should be a straight swap out with little or no splicing. PM a phone # if you want to talk details.

Hey guys,
Just wanted to say THANKS for all the useful replies. I havn't been on here since.
I actually started diggin into the 1996 4dr donar and see that many things are quite different from the 95 2dr. THe engine and dash harness are integrated on the 1996 meaning I would have to swap the whole dash over to complete this swap, or as I see it anyways.
I'm sure I've read this before, but I will ask again. Will a 95 16v donar harness plug into the 95 8v dash harness?

I would swap everything over. The dash is pretty easy to pull.

FYI The engine harness for the 95 (& pre) separates under the dash. The 96 (& after) separate under the hood. The connectors are not compatable in any way. However you can retrofit a newer Harness into an older model. Mine is setup that way. 95 ECM, 96 Harness, 96 motor operating in OBD1 "mode"
