Title: dumb rear axle question

well workin on the year end of jens tracker today, well i was lookin at the set up, what is the peice that conects the the rear diff above the u join and axle, and connects to a crossmember in the frame? kinda like a sway bar type thing? what would happen if i were to take it off? lol i already unbolted it and the axle dropped down a bit.. i was thinken " flex " but what would the road performance be like and what would happen lol ??? ::)

Put it back on!!!!!!!  It stops the axle from twisting and keeps your drive line in line.

if you don't have that on you axle will move ALOT more than you want it to.

The rear axel on a sidekick is a "3 link" setup.  The center piece you are talking about is the 3rd link.  :P

If you take it off, you are gonna get major axel twist, and will most likely injure yourself.

hahaha yea i realized that after i posted i was screwin with it, and ya its back on now lol..  im still on the learning stage about these little trucks lol ne way yea im just screwin about with suspension and i also realized that the rims are the same as my ford rims and not my s 10 rims.. which is a big bonus for various reasons :P

yup there are no dumb questions, better to ask something silly than find out the hard way. i'm also learning about these rigs, as the last thing i worked on was my old vette. it didn't have a computer or sensors, and it was along time ago. i'm glad to be back to working on my own vehicles again, i knew saving all my tools would come in handy again  ;D

Hey i've seen a guy put shackels on both ends of his leaf springs and I told him it was not safe but he had to roll it first to belive me  ::)

haha funny stuff lol.. yea lucky i decided to ask about it eh.. as soon as i took it off i noticed wow that dropped prety far,, then i grabbed the axle and it moved prety good side to side i was like hmmmmm lol

There are some mods for it, like longer shocks and such,I think it is either in the tech sectoin on this board or on hagens site! The only kick I have is for parts for my sammies  :o
