Hi all,
I don't know what the heck those things are called. I'm looking for a way to remove them so I can clean them up and plastidip them to match the front grill. I have two white retaining buttons on mine and I don't want to just pull on them and bust the things. Or is just that easy? If by chance I do break them, can replacements be had cheap?
Thanks,
Rob

They look to be held on with some sort of factory pop rivet. My 1st targa bar didn't have them so I bought a set and held them in place with a button head metal screw. I bought a bunch of Sammi stuff from a guy including my present targa bar.
If you screw yours up removing them I will sell ya the ones I bought for what I have in them $15.00 plus shipping. I think I can ship them media mail which I believe would be the cheapest. I might even be able to slip them into a legal size envelop and ship.

Thanks for the reply.
I will work on getting them off this week so I can clean them up. No need to put them back on until I get a better idea of what it will take to get the body on my Sami up to snuff. I know paint will be in its future at some time.
I appreciate the purchase deal. I will more than likely need to take you up on it soon.

Rob I have a set (my old ones) of targa bars off in the garage. I will take a look at them to see how the are held on. If it is the pop rivet I think a die grinder or maybe a dremel tool to the pop rivet head should do it just be careful not to hit the plastic.
I'll let you know later on.
As for the plates I have they are in very good condition and you can consider them yours until you tell me differently. They are just a few of many Zuk items neatly tucked away in plastic tote boxes...

Alright I took a look at the targa I had in the garage and just as i thought the only acess to the trim pieces would be if you removed the targa from the body. so I don't believe that Suzuki did anything more than pop rivit the OEM trim pieces on. I also looked at the new ones on the targa on my ZUk. scratch off the die grinder. I didn't realize the heads were flat on the rivits holding the trim pieces in place.
After a review I would center punch them and drill them out. I am sure that if you do this you can remove the ones on your Zuk with harm and be good to go without any additional purchase from me. But if something goes South rest assured you can have mine once you let me know.

Thanks for all the great info! I may have to get yours from you as someone must have thought you could just grab and pull. I know one is cracked now, but it may be fine after I get it off and do a little work on it. Maybe I should come up with somethign better there. My son said soemthing about doing a theme build on my Sami. Maybe we could build a logo plate for that area out of aluminum or steel and then put it there.

They make a diamond plate insert for this area.... ;)

I used "diamond plate" rubber step tread. Just cut to fit, peal & stick.

Thanks! That looks very good and would be a quick easy way to deal with it.

That was an excellent tip Warbird...
Where did you get it?
Is it in a roll & what width by length (approximately)
Cost?
Sorry for all the questions but I can think of a few other places this might come in handy...

Wal-Mart, comes in a 4" x 17" 2 pk for $8(ish). It's usually with the towing stuff. Harbor Freight has it too (in both 4x17 & 12x12) but I don't remember the $
