Title: newbie got a few ?
Post by: irontiger14 on September 29, 2012, 03:18:47 AM
Hello everyone I have some questions first I have an 1995 Suzuki sidekick how can I find out what submodel it is.
Also where is best site to buy accessories and parts for it.
Lastly put a new clutch, pressure plate, and clutch cable and before it shifted real smooth now it is really hard to push clutch in and you have to just ram it as hard as you can to go threw gears. Sometimes its easier when you take of from a stop just turn Suzuki off put in 1st then start up and take off any help would be appreciated and more I learn I will soon return the favor thanks.

Usually on submodels you can tell which they are by....
2wd=JA
4wd=JS
power windows and locks=JLX
"leather" seats=Limited

There are other "options" that are usually included in JS, JLX and Limited models, other than what I listed above.  Sometimes the submodel designation is also on the tailgate.

For your clutch issue.  Sounds like the cable might be bad (it does happen on new ones, especially if it isn't a genuine suzuki cable).  If you still have your old cable around, swap it back on and adjust it and see if it shifts easy again.  I would not drive it with it shifting like it does now...you could cause damage that will cost a lot more time and money to fix.

sounds like the cable is either bad or adjusted wrong. I had the same problem on my 94 when I bought it. I went through 3 cables before finally getting it fixed. good luck on that though
