so i traded me up a 85 sj410 in great condition except the carb, real nightmare.looking for something to replace it with.also have a 87 sammi with 1.3 was thinking i would take it and tranny and swap into the sj410,anyone ever done this swap.

I think that is a fairly common swap, but you will need to make new mounts for the engine and tranny on the SJ410 frame. You might also need a small body lift or a Samurai hood to clear the engine.
I've read that the SJ410 carbs were actually pretty good, better than the Aisin or Hitachi carbs on the 1300 engine. Although, I have no personal experience with them. I seem to recall that the SJ410 carb was a sidedraft carb. Take a picture of what you have and post it please.

it side a side draft, somebody already tried to fix it.just cobbled it.looking for a replacement.

The SJ-410 has a side-draft carb stock. It might be a bit plugged up though, I had one that needed to be rebuilt but I just bought one off ebay instead. If you go with an earlier SJ-410 carb it gets rid of a lot of the vacuum lines.
I never had a problem with the stock 1.0L other then it not having a lot of power. It ran like a top even though I ignored it for the most part and would run at just about any angle.
