Title: Wheel hub
Post by: TX-Trak on October 11, 2012, 11:51:29 AM
I have a wheel bearing on the front that went bad, and chewed up the wheel hub a little.  I'm thinking i'll pick up a used wheel hub at a salvage yard to install new bearings in, but i have a question.  I was told that vehicles with manual locking hubs have different wheel hubs than those with automatic locking hubs.  is this correct?  I thought the bearing hub was the same for both, but i have never owned one with automaic lacking hubs.

95 tracker, manual trans, 4wd, manual locking hubs.

Thanks in advance!

No, they are the same.  Some trackers do have press-in bearings on the hubs and 4-door trackers have larger brakes then 2-doors but you should be able to just snag a front end from any other tracker out there.
