Title: Torque converter HELP !
Post by: bentparts on October 13, 2012, 04:46:07 PM
I need to find out If I can mate a torque converter and flex plate that would fit on the crank of a 1998 engine to a 3 speed auto from a 1995 2 door. SEE " Pulling A 16V from a Tracker " for details.  Any and all help and info GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I'm guessing here, but I'm thinking there is some big change that happened to the 16Valve 1.6 after 95 that makes the crankshaft different at the mounting point for the flex plate and torque converter. Or maybe the 4 speed auto has a different crank?
