Post by: bbutler455 on October 25, 2012, 09:27:06 PM
Adding the sidekick power steering to my 86 samurai.  Where does the reservior mount to?

It is a good idea to keep it as close to the pump as possible. It will also have to be located higher then the PS pump.

Here are a couple examples:

The 1st one is mine it is a TG reservoir made a bracket for it to mount to the fender support and the lower fender well.

2nd may be more what you are looking for.

By using a sidekick setup, do you end up adding a double crank pulley to the run the belt?  And if so, how close to the fan pulley does it get?  Very interested in this setup but do you get any more or less benifits in using a Toyota setup?

i used kick gear.
i got the pulley from trailtough, and it is a little deeper than the stock double-v.
not a problem in my situation(sidekick).
should have done it years ago. i know nothing about toy gear.
i hung the reservoir off the radiator bracket.
