Title: how to - window crank removal

i seem to have shakin something else losse in my car again  ::) seems to be something in the drivers door relating to the window/ window crank it clanks and clicks when i roll the window up..i can also feel it in the crank

so i need to get the door pannel off to see what i shook losse this time lol but i cant get the window crank handel off

There should be a clip on the back of the crank that needs to be taken off. Use a rag or something you can get behind it and work off that way. watch it cause the clip might go sailing. good luck

like behind the door panel?? or on the outside of the door pannel on the back of the crank??

It's a steel clip, not really that fragile

oh its steel..ill have to poke around i thought he was talking about the little molding thing that is between the crank arm and pannel  ::)..ill get it all figured out tommorow

i want to get it fixed soon because im affriad the window will drop in the door..then id need a new window lol

The window crank clip will probably come out without breaking, but some of the little clips that hold the interior door panel on will almost certainly break. At least they do for me. You can find replacements for those at car parts places and, sometimes, even at places like Lowe's.

that clanking is prolly the handle...the splining inside is prolly stripped. if it is, it happened from the window it self not sliding propperly...pull the door apart and use some silicone oil on the window track and all of the cables inside. also....the weather striping on the inside of the window might be "pinching" the window and making it tought to roll up, that happened to my passenger side door. good luck and i hope this helped

oh so it might not be from the 15s pounding my lil truklet to sh#t..sweet =) 8)...

and thanks for the diagram wild..i woulda been at that all day and never used a towel lol thats just how i am =)

that cloth method reallllly doesnt work well, i just used a nail i bent on the end, hooked it on, then pulled with a set of pliars
its easier to get it back on

Well I did it this way and it worked fine, so there  :P

LOL

after I got mine up I hooked it with a seal pick and
pulled it the rest of the way out, they fly so watch it.

i really need to get a vid camera..usually whenever i do anything its like watching dumb and dumber lol so this c clip thing could turn out to be something quite funny lol

Cloth worked fine for me. My friends taht install custom car Audio and video do it this way too.
