So I got 4 door rotors, calipers and master cylinder on my 92 tracker 2 door. Now the brakes are dragging! I can turn them through by hand with no problem, slight resistance as should be expected. But after driving for a few miles the start dragging and get very hot! I pulled the calipers cleaned the pistons and caliper, they cleaned up great and seemed to work smoothly. Drove it today after cleaning the calipers and the front wheels are still to hot to touch! Any ideas? Is there a problem with the master cylinder maybe??
Thanks Joe

Had the same issue when I swapped to the 4 door master cylinder and front brakes. For $10 I'll tell ya what it is  Just kidding. The actuating rod in the master is set out too far, brakes feel great and have solid feel I bet? Until you drive it and they expand, locking up the calipers and getting VERY hot. You'll have to measure the distance between the rod in the power booster and the part it contacts in the master cylinder and set the rod so it has a bit of play. I have a special tool I got with my Dealer Service Kit that makes the adjustment pretty easy, without it I'm sure it can be done but it's gonna be a bit harder. Hope this helps.

I do believe Bent parts is spot on. This can b verified by shimming the master cylinder with a couple of washers. If you get favorable results then , you can shorten the rod in side the booster vice grips and a wrench will work btw

Awesome guys !! Thanks for the ideas, yes it feels good cold then as I drive it firms way up and starts cooking the brakes. I will keep you posted if this takes care of it.
Thanks again

So I went under the dash to where the pushrods attaches to the brake pedal, there is a locknut and the pushrods is threaded. So I backed the pushrod up about two full turns, readjusted the brake light switch and that seems to have fixed it! Drove it about 20 mes and the brakes were not hot! The pedal is a little softer, still better than the old brakes, but I'm fine with that as long as their not red hot!
Thanks again for the tips!!

Well, that's one way to do it. Glad it worked for you. Keep an eye on it though, I was able to drive mine on the highway for a bit before it started to lock up.
