I read the Suzuki America division for selling cars is going to be no more. :'( . Read the Full article on Fox News.

That would be a sad day. But you sure its now. Fox news is known to publish false information.
-
lol.
The new suzukis are useless for 4x4 anyways except for the equator which is really just a rebadged nissan.
-
Fox News is about the only real news left anymore. The rest are all just liberal talk shows!
-
Fox is the only credible news source these days, even with it's neo-con tilt, everything else is fullbore marxist/amoral propaganda.

LOL ya and Fox News released braking news, Big foot is real, and UFO's are on the attack. Do a search and I guarantee you will find they really did say those. LOL their a joke.

All news is propaganda because all media is biased. That's the way it should be. Whats sick is that they all have the nerve to claim they are providing their consumers with "truth". "Truth" is usually far too complicated to fit into a 30 second or even 5 minute soundbite. Chomsky has been saying this for years. Fortunately in this age of information we have the ability to read different sources. Before the dawn of the internet you were stuck with corporate media or state media which each have their own agenda. i believe it's called manifest destiny

"Suzuki said it will continue to honor warranties and will provide automobile parts and service through its parts and service dealer network."
Although, this means they won't be selling their cars/trucks in America... I didn't read anything indicating they will stop making vehicles, which if true, is a good thing because I think they make some great quality "low end" vehicles. It's just too damned bad Americans aren't buying enough of them to warrant continuing sales here.

they are actually thriving in the 'low end' car category in parts of the world that have it like japan kei cars, such as the wagon r (best selling kei car there since 2003). They just couldn't get into American swing of things. the American auto market is very different then the rest of the world, very strict safety and emissions standards.
Looks like Suzuki is sticking around in Canada though, for now. Maybe we will see some stuff from overseas now that American Suzuki is out of the question. Doubtful but one can always dream.
I would totally buy a 5 door wagon that gets 67mpg!

i think they could have competed with Heep if they would have came out with a new version of the Samurai, kept to its older design ie: solid front and rear axle and manual t case but offer it affordably instead of steaming heep prices. My SX4 is great, in-laws Kizashi is beautiful and I love my Tracker and inspired my brother in law to buy one also. Mom has a XL-7 also and there has been an Aerio in the family too. Sad to see it all go.

as far as I am concerned they missed the boat with not releasing the jimny here in the USA, so no loss.
-
hmm so there is hope left i can still get myself a jimny here canda...fingers crossed!

There is literally no new/newer vehicle currently on the American market that appeals to me today IF I had to purchase a new vehicle. I would have to go shopping for (yet) another Tracker or Sidekick. For me, they do everything I ask them to do and are capable of alot more. I would entertain a Jimny if they were offered here. I'm just not interested in a bunch of added (non essential) creature comforts and I can parallel park my truck very well (that was a part of passing a driver's exam) and I don't need an engineer designing these attributes into a vehicle for those who can't drive their vehicle.
Give me a manual tranny, 4WD, A/C and a radio and I'm good to go. I'm just getting grumpier as I age, I guess.
-
anyone on here ever import a jimny from japan to Canada? any of you guys out west see any around? because the new style jimnys (1998) will be able to be imported and register in Canada in 2013 because they will soon be 15 years old. imagine the heads you'd turn in this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/92/Suzuki_Jimny_JB23_001.JPG (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/92/Suzuki_Jimny_JB23_001.JPG)

The factory rims are butt-ugly but it is a great looking little truck. What kind of changes did they make to these newer models? Obviously 4WD is still available in them, but did they change the drive train or enlarge the engine? If they didn't yuppie it to death, I'd drive one.
-
only thing different by the looks of it is coils instead of leafs, found the specs online here http://www.globalsuzuki.com/automobile/lineup/jimny/spec/index.html (http://www.globalsuzuki.com/automobile/lineup/jimny/spec/index.html)
