Title: How wide is too wide?
Post by: tchajagos on November 09, 2012, 12:33:23 AM
I am starting to plan out a long travel front set up and was thinking about how wide i can do the front end before it starts to look funky. I would like to use the stock lower A arms, just move them outwards for less CV plunge and more room for upper arms. To get them to pivot on the plane of the CV i would have to move them out like 7" on each side. I am thinking that 14" wider might be a bit too much. I am leaning more towards 4-5" on each side as it would be better, aesthetically speaking. I was planning to run 15x7.5 stock ford alcoas as they are forged wheels and easy to pick up at the pick a part and 31" tires. Also planning on running wider fiberglass on the front and back. Thanks

I think 5 inches each side with 4 inch fender flares would look good. I just put on some 4 inch fender flares and it looks wonky with the wheels not matching up with the flares

Do you have any pics of your fiberglass installed?

They're pacer flexable fender flares. I don't have any pics yet but I'll get some when I install my 2 inch wheel spacers
