I recently ask for some input on two samurais that I was looking at buying.
I am very grateful for the input and information.

Main purpose I drive a 120 mile round trip 4 days a week on 60 mph roads.
Secondary usage occasional off road and farm use.
I am looking for a small 4 wheel drive vehicle.

I have started to look into tracker/sidekicks. And now have some other questions about the best years for trackers. Which engine 8v or 16v? Which transmission auto or manual?  Which years work better for light lifting and larger tires?
I am looking to land somewhere along the line about of the picture below

Tintop Trackick! my Favorite. I would try and find the lowest mileage one you can get, either Geo/Chevy Tracker or Suzuki Sidekick, also one that is unmolested or at the very least as close to stock as possible. Finding a factory hardtop will be more difficult, an auto trans will give you better and easier gearing choices if you plan on lifting and going with bigger ( 30" or more ) tires. As far as years go, 1995 is a good one, still OBD1 but has the 16Valve engine which is stronger.  Any 16V including the later OBD2 96and up are good.

X2 on the Sidekick. It is much more refined (and aerodynamic) on the roadway. I have a 1990 Kick with a ton of miles on it that I use as a winter beater. I paid $500 for it 6 years ago and I really haven't had to do much of any repairs.
