Title: 97 Sidekick. Speedo/Odo doesn't work. VSS?

Where is the vehicle speed sensor on this vehicle? I just got this over the weekend and got it running. The previous owner apparently fixed everything with generous amounts of tape, silicone, and beer. It runs great now, but I am still chasing bugs. The Speedometer doesn't work, and neither does the odometer. I suspect the speed sensor is faulty or disconnected, but I haven't gotten a manual yet and don't know where it is located. Can anyone help?

Or does this actually have a cable-drive speedo? I haven't looked yet

Cable driven - slide under and look near the tail of the transfer case.
