Looking for a 5.12 10 bolt rear diff for my Tracker. Thanks
-
What happened to yours ? If you where closer I would sell one of mine.

Hey Kreator, not broke yet but startin to howl at certain speeds. I'm gonna rebuild it but I thought if I could get one in good shape I could save a bit of time and effort not having to pull the pinion and such. My pinion bearing is the main culprit.

There must be some one on the east coast that has one

Been looking with no results for the last couple of weeks, the 5.12's are getting kind of scarce. No big deal I ordered the rebuild kit from Low range.
-
I might have just the ring and pinion. It was fine when pulled. I have to climb into the attic and look for it if you could use it.

Just received my last Sammy Master Rebuild kit from LROR Saturday. It took two weeks to receive it this time off back order because they were awaiting one bearing. I still think their kit is a high quality rebuild kit and at a great value. I also scored a free LROR t-shirt in the deal too. Made it an even better value!

Thanks guys. skitime, I'll be tearing into mine soon, hopefully later this week. Once I inspect the gears I'll know if they need replacement.
-
Hey nprecon, just talked to LR and sure enough, " we are waiting on a few pieces for this kit." Great, wish they would put that on their site instead of " generally on shelf."

It has to be a really high demand item. Another company might sell a similar kit, but I don't know of one off-hand. It is a very high quality little rebuild kit and I'm glad they make the time, to take the time to put them together for sale to us at the price point they charge for them. It is a very good value.
After almost an additional week of waiting for my 2nd kit, I got just a little concerned when I hadn't received or heard anything so I shot them an e-mail to follow-up on the order. William got back with me the very next day to tell me they were awaiting receipt of ONE bearing to complete the kit. I received my last kit just this past Saturday. The bearings in this last kit came all bundled together and wrapped tightly in a clear plastic wrap. I didn't check the bearings closely, but I did note the cup on one had "Japan" on it. My first kit had the bearings in their individual boxes. They were all Koyo. I didn't see the gear paint and small brush in this kit... but again, I didn't unwrap it because I didn't want to contaminate the bearings.
If you are in need of rebuilding your diff soon, I can send you the one I have on hand and you can send your bearing rebuild kit back to me whenever you receive it. If you are squished for time, let me know. No big deal.

I am heading for offroading in Colorado next week. If you need it, you will need to let me know before next Thursday.

Thanks nprecon, i really appreciate the offer but I'm in no hurry. The truck is drivable and just makes some noise at this point. I'll wait for kit as I know it'll show up eventually. Skitime, sure, if you want to part with the ring and pinion as long as the ring gear is a 10 bolt ( so my arb will fit ) shoot me a price with shipping and lets make a deal. I'd rather have a set on hand if needed then have to go searching for them if mine turn out to be damaged.

I can generally source diffs local around here (ohio)..... but when I do need to check "salvage" parts I have recently been using car-part.com (http://car-part.com) with good results. Its a good way to check some junk yards in a given distance. The gen1 trackicks are getting harder to find though.
Just a heads up in-case you haven't heard of that site before....might check it out.

Bentparts, I crawled into the attic to find the ring and pinion today. Unfortunately, all I found was the ring and pinion from the front diff. Apparently, I had sold the rear ring and pinion years ago when I put the 5:83 gears in and forgot. Very sorry. Good luck on finding one. I know without a doubt you can find what you want at this yard. This is the only place I go anymore and their prices are great. http://www.joesusedautoparts.com/EZPull.html (http://www.joesusedautoparts.com/EZPull.html)

Thanks skitime and heiny, I'm not too worried about it, I'm almost positive all I really need is a pinion bearing and seal, as well as a new crush sleeve and shims to set it back up. I appreciate you crawling into your attic Skitime, that must have been fun. Have a great trip out west, I'm envious. ;D
