Title: cj springs
Post by: brace on March 28, 2004, 11:16:54 PM
A friend of mine has a set of CJ springs he'll give me for free.  I was wondering if I were to put them on what the outcome would be.  Would there be any lift  or plusher ride?  Anyone who could share their experience on this would be appreciated.   :P

Brace, you'll have to modify your spring mounts, and buy/build some dogleg shackles.  Your ride will be a little smoother than stock...though not as smooth as YJ springs.  I've done it, and I'm happy.  I used 2" cj lift springs for a total of 5" lift.  So, I suspect you'll get a couple of inches out of stock springs.

Look on the www.northcoastoffroad.com website under the ARS and AFS spring mounts. use their rear hangers with the YJ shackles and the front hangers with Trailtough missing links. First thing that you need to know, is are the springs off a 76-86 CJ? If not, they will be of no benefit.
