Figures, 2 weeks before Moab and I find that the blown
lower radiator hose I had 9-10 Months ago, caused a
blown head gasket, probably got worse from the turbo
and all the tuning I've been doing.
More to fix :(
and I need to build a Slip Yoke Eliminator too, driveline is
not happy with the Slip Yoke hanging out 3 Inches, maybe
more, *sigh* well at least I have some jobs comming Monday
that should cover me getting to Moab
Moab Or Bust !!!

:'(
I'm going, I'll fix it or if it doesn't give me too much
trouble this next few days I might drive it as is, I should
fix it, it's only a one day job at worst, depends on the
time I have.
Got the rear gears in, really low with 30s on there, I have to
build my Slip Yoke Eliminator in the next day or two, the long
rear springs make the slip yoke viberate bad, can't make the
trip with it like that.
Moab or Bust !!

Why is the driveshaft hanging out so far? Can you add a 1 inch driveline spacer? If you make a slipyoke eliminator will you be able to use this 4 to 1 case I was going to borrow you?

I wasn't sure if you had the room for that and all the
other stuff that you were going to bring.
If I go to SYE we will have to drill and tap the output shaft
on the T-case, I have not done it yet, but I've been meaning
to get it done for a while now.
I'll show you how to do yours if you want, it's an easy do
if you want the SYE for your rig too, BTW it can be run with
the normal Slip Yoke too, so I would just need to drop the
new driveline and put in an old one.
I don't need a SYE but the vibration will cause problems
over a 800 mile trip.
You could modify your output shaft and I can still use
the SYE driveline with your T-case too, hmm so many
things to go tho.
Let my know.

If your gonna be around and have time, I can show you the
trucklet and I might even be working on it then, I got to get
the front diff out and I still don't have a 26 spline long side
front axle, I might have LWB Sammy bring his to install when
I get to Moab :D
Could get interesting these last few days before the takeoff.

hey that would be awesome to see ur trucklet =) show my friend to since he doesnt belive someone has a turbod one =)
pm where u live and ill see how close we are gunna be...i think i am driving anyway so ill just make my friend go tee hehe lol

I'll lend a hand if you need one. As you know it is a 10 to 15 min drive (depending on how many CHP are parked on I-10 8)). I would like to see the turbo and talk zuk. I can't follow you to Moab. Family trip to Havasu for some watersking this year. But next year maybe we could start a So-Cal convoy.
-
Havasu is on the way to Moab ;)

i have a pair of metal soles i wear to ski behind my friends car(dont ask =))..might be a bit to many sparks for the kids though...but u could always use them to ski in moab =) lol

Wish I was in your area, I'd come help, pound a few beers, make jokes about mike, and learn some more stuff about zooks. ;D
I always liked to help folks back in Indiana on stuff, if nothing else, those were fantastic opportunities to learn.
-
:)....... :D............ ;D................. :'(
Aww man, That's beautiful, all you guys
that want to lend a hand, This is an
awsome collection of Zuke lovers, I
really appreciate the offers. :D

Wild, Ive got bad news. The case I was going to bum you Im gonna need for my own rig. :'( I Installed my dual Tcase setup last night and I dont like the way it turned out. Im yanking it tomorrow and runnin my old setup.... the one I was going to borrow you. Im really sorry.

No worries, I think I got the power to
pull the taller T-case, that and the Auto
trans gives a certain amount of crawl that
a clutch can't.
I would have liked to try it tho I'll have
to let you drive the turbo kick and see
what you think, it's more like a V6 in power,
feels weird at first, a Kick with kick ;D
It's all good, sorry to hear about the twin
T-cases, I don't think I'm going to be able
to do the SYE either, I took Heathers 2" lift
TJ springs out and the viberation is gone,
just a little too tall for the old shaft, but I'll
get it all done one of these days.
I'll share the SYE secret with you, in P/M if
you want to know how to make it easily.

Well have to hook up in Moab. ;) I think we could discuss tracker mods all week if we wanted too. I think we could learn a lot from each other. We will have to swap rides for a short run. BTW we are gonna have to race... if you kick my ass too bad I might be in the market for a turbo. ::)
;DMike
-
;D I'm gona come lookin for you !!
Here is a heads up so you can be prepaired.
I just ran 84 MPH in the 1/4 mile on 30" rubber
with the 5.83 diff gears, now you know what you
have to beat ;) it's really a "Wild" ride ;D
-
30" :o 84mph :o christ that is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!
-
8) Yep we need to talk. ;D
-
30 inch tires are actually pretty small for 5.83s and an auto. Id like to run 35s at 85mph... period! I dont care how fast I can get it there. Do you think a turbo setup could be built reliable enough to drive on long trips? I just realized what the title of this thread is! :P ::)
Mike
-
That equates out to about 125 HP hitting the road
This is from the "Poor Mans Dyno" www.4lo.com
useing quarter mile speed or time and vehicle weight
84 MPH, 2700 Lbs (includes me |removethispart|@ 200) = 125 HP
-
LOL, yep it's reliable, I have a blown head gasket
from blowing the bottom radiator hose, about 10
months ago, the electric fan couldn't keep things
cooled off enough and the hose was Origional Equip
My fault, I should have replaced it many years ago.
-
Keep it in mind and we will talk more in moab. Ive got a 16valve so that might throw a wrench in things. Its also got a second o2 sensor behind the cat... I dont know if that matters but...
On that note Im going to bed. Im beat.
We need a sleepy face guy. This is pretty much what I look like sleeping :P but with my eyes closed! ;D
Mike
-
O2 is not used under WOT conditions.
We'll talk lot's more in Moab ;D
-
Damn, I'm gonna miss out on the drag race >:( This is going to be done OFF-ROAD isn't it :-/
Zig
-
Of coarse, street racing is illegal ::)
I'll be running my 33 Swampers at Moab
I just wear out the cheep 30s on the street.

It sounds like it's gonna be a big discussion!  I'll bring the Crown!
Crown Royal, that is.
