Title: 87 sam alt wiring

Regarding the big green OE terminal for the rear of the alternator. Should one of the two wires be a ground?
I'm having some electrical issues and I am trying to do some diagnostics.

No - the alternator is grounded through the mounts, there are three wires - the output which is the large stud, and the two in the plug are an ignition feed and the charge light connection.
