Title: [img][/img]New Guy with Neat Project
Post by: Sprint4X4 on March 23, 2004, 11:29:48 AM
Hi, My name is Justin and I am 17 years old and drive a 1991 Chevy Sprint. I am I diehard Suzuki fan and I am working on putting the body of the Sprint on to a Sammi frame being powered by a supercharged Sidekick 1.6L EFI engine and have an Atlas II transfer case with Dana 44 axles(locked of course). I am hopping to be able to stuff some 33's or maybe 35's under it. Here's a pic of the car as is.(http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/7/web/319000-319999/319980_1_full.jpg)

Cool Sprint.  I really like those cars.  That project of yours sounds pretty intense.  I look forward to see how it comes out.

More details on the supercharged 1.6L, please. Did you modify the supercharger to fit the Sidekick engine, or is there a kit available?

Calmini USED to sell charger kits but they didn't sell many so the stoped makeing them.  but most people didn't have 3 grand to drop on supercharger.  i wish i would of bought the one offered to me for $1500.

Well I know they make a supercharger kit for the 1.3L in the Sammi so I hope to modify it to fit the 1.6L engine. This will also be my daily driver so it won't be too extreme. It will have a snorkle though ;)

I believe the Calmini Supercharger (well it really wasn't THEIRS, and I heard recently that the company that built it has been bought out) was for a 1.3 with regular carbs, not EFI...

the suzuki swift gti cam with a 1300 cc 4 cyl that is a very peepy engine that is fully capable of revving to 8900 rpm and still stay happy it came stock with a forged crank and fairly strong internals the one i used to own was sold to a friend it wil be running 8psi daily and is expected to make roughly 140-160 hp all that and a car that only weighs in at 1800 lbs

all ican say is power to weight baby this thing is gonna rock all those civics out there

I am familiar with the Ignis, but I am talking about the Swift Sport:

This thing would totally rule the streets around here.  I can so see this selling off the lots and being a total tuner car.

Actually the I really like the Aerio, (SX model 4WD).  Alot of people are tuning those cars and they are a force to be reckoned with.  :)
