Hi gang.
Has anyone installed LED headlights in there 2nd gen Tracker/Vitara? I recently "restored" my head light lenses and installed Silverstar Ulta bulbs. And while this resulted in a good improvement for night driving, I would like more. I have HID's (factory) in my other vehicle, and so I am spoiled by light output.
So...if anyone has input, please chime in.

Apart from them being illegal (not approved under FMVSS108), I think you would be disappointed - LEDs are noted for providing vast amounts of illumination with very limited reach.

While they aren't "head lights", I have a pair of Rigid D2 LED lights on my Jeep. They turn night into day for out to about 100 yards in front and about a 140 degree cone forward of my Jeep. You can't use these while driving on the hard ball when vehicles are coming at you, but I now have no problem seeing deer along the road and avoiding them when they are on. I'm seriously thinking about buying a set and mounting them on my brush guard of my Tracker.

This is a vid of a Rigid D2 LED light mounted on a Honda XR400 that gives a pretty good comparison of how much MORE light these tiny Rigid lamps put out. Seriously, when I flip on the Rigid D2 lights, I can't even tell my headlights are on anymore. These Rigid D2 lights just totally out shine the stock headlights.

a friend of mine has rigid lights install on his jeep. last time i checked, they dont have available products for suzuki vehicles.

I installed the rigid lights in my bumper, and they are amazing. While you can't tell if your headlights are on with them on, you wonder if your headlight are on when you turn them off. When passing vehicles with them on they are almost blinding the driver through the side mirror (another reason not to use on road).

I'm not aware that Rigid Industries makes ANY "vehicle specific" lights, as far as I know ALL of their lights are "universal fit" - you buy what you want and fit it to what you have. Rigid does offer vehicle specific mounting brackets, but, the lack of such a bracket does not prevent their lights from being used on a vehicle for which a bracket is not offered, and they also offer "universal" mounts.
The Rigid Industries light being discussed here is the D2 Dually, which can be mounted on any flat surface, or, to a roll cage, or bull/brush bar, using Rigid Industries universal mounts.

So far, I have yet to read of anyone that really loves the LED headlight conversions.
I looked into it, and decided not to do it.
I still would like to have an option for better headlights on my '95 Kick, though. The OE ones are weak!

Is it the headlights that are weak, or the wiring?
Get yourself a voltmeter and back probe the headlight socket, measure the voltage across the headlight directly at the socket and see what it is, compare it to the voltage measured at the battery terminals and then look at the chart below.
This is the output of a 9006 low beam bulb at different voltages, it's taken from one of Daniel Sterns webpages (http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/relays/relays.html).
10.5V : 510 lumens
11.0V : 597 lumens
11.5V : 695 lumens
12.0V : 803 lumens
12.5V : 923 lumens
12.8V : 1000 lumens ←Rated output voltage
13.0V : 1054 lumens
13.5V : 1198 lumens
14.0V : 1356 lumens ←Rated life voltage
14.5V : 1528 lumens

Wow, that's some great info!~ & also wow... the vast difference with small voltage variation!
