How important is the swaybar on a lifted Tracker? When I bought it, the previous owner had (for some reason) removed the swaybar connectors. Now that it's lifted I have noticed an increased amount of sway... especially when hitting bumps/potholes in the road. Do I have to replace the connecters (mind you the swaybar was still there, just disconnected and pushed up) and replace the swaybar? Does the swaybar decrease articulation?
Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

i do know that the sway bar removed does give u better articulation but decreases stability
does anybody make any quick disconnect sway bars for the trackick hmmmmmmmm

If someone with the Calmini 3" lift and the swaybars hooked up could snap a couple of quick pictures, that would be great. :)

I don't run with a sway bar on.
I dint find much of a differance with it off. The body kind of sways a bit more now, but its nothing freaky.
The bar is simple to put on. I think the stock control arms had the connecting bolts on the bottom of the arm. When I installed the calmini control arms, I put the connecting bolts on the top. The two center loops on the straight shaft slide onto the front control arm bolts.

Well I don't have a camera to take a pic. But speaking from personal experience, I prefer the sway bar in. I drove my tracker for two months without the swaybar, and noticed that the body rolled more around corners. When I put it back in the on road drivabilty improved considerably to the point where I'll leave it on, since my ride is also my daily driver. It would be easy to dissconnect it with a wrench if I was doing any off-roading for more than a day, like a weekend trip. It all boils down to personal preference, I like it on.

hmm... i might go ahead and reattach it, just to see how it drives with the swaybar. i still need a picture of the connectors since i will probably attempt to create my own rather than buying something.

I didn't like the handling of mine with a 2" lift and the sway bar disconnected however I found that fitting 1 1/2" wheel spacers returned the handling pretty much back to stock. The Calmini springs seem to be a LOT stiffer than mine so it probably has less effect.

Sorry I missed all this!
I have a swaybar with a DISCONNECT - it was a prototype made by Rotational Dynamics (the underdrive pulley people).
Here's a pic of the whole thing, with the "connectors":

The disconnect interferes with the Calmini strut brace, which you install for the steering stabilizer, and the belly armor, so I took it off and left it off.
I drive serious mountain roads regularly, without the sway-bar, and have no major complaints. Yeah, it leans a bit - pay attention!

sweet! is that for sale then? :)

Thanks Bobzooki :)
How much does the Calmini steering stabilizer help out? Worth the money?

I took my sway bar out a couple years ago. No problem.
The Calmini steering stabilizer works ok. I did a bunch of mods at the same time so it's hard to tell.
What I did like is the pracket that conects the two front lower control arms together. Then I got he skid plate that attaches with to it.

Heres some pics for you.
Sway bar...

The bolt ends... the control arm goes between the bushings... (the holes are predrilled. don't worry)

These loops bolt on right behind the front, front control arm bolts. (not as confusing as it sounds :P)

Looking at the sway bar connectors and the Calmini anti-sway kit, I may try to fabricate the brace that spans across the front lower control arm mounts. From looking at various pictures, that appears to be the bult of the kit (correct me if I'm wrong)... not gonna pay $200 if it is :D
Also, thanks for the detailed pics, Kreg :)

I found that with the lift kit fitted the sway bar fouled on the steering linkage when the wheel dropped down.

Hey, that's not the Calmini unit, and I don't run ANY sway bar. I do fine without, even on very twisty mountain roads, at high speed.
My recommendation? Lose the sway bar altogether, and learn to drive your rig the way it handles without the sway bar. Yes, it will have more body roll. No, it's not the end of the world.

Seeing that I have a 2wd and have no intention of taking of off road. Does anyone make upper strut bars for my 97' Kick? And is there a rear lower strut?

Did you make your stabilizer, then? I am confused...
