Title: is it possible to adjust the rear door on a 5 door 1993 sidekick
Post by: RJkick on December 08, 2015, 09:40:37 AM
I have been checking the FSM and other avenues but I only see how to remove it.  I tried loosening the hinges and shaking it but no real noticeable adjustment.

I had to put a bolt as a spacer between the body and the striker to move it out so the door would close on it.  I have about a half inch gap between the body and the door now.

Any suggestions are welcome

You should be able to get some movement by moving the hinges on the body.  It is easier with some help.  Loosen the six hinge mounting bolts.  With door open push bottom of door (from outside by the hinge) towards drivers side, and tighten one bolt.  Next with door still open push top of door towards drivers side, tighten one bolt.  Slowly close door and see if it is closer.  When adjusted properly tighten all the bolts.
The hinge bolts on the door may give you a little adjustments as height of door on hinge side, but will not move the door to the left as you need (unless you add a spacer there).

Thanks, I will try it

Hopefully I can enlist my wife or someone to tighten the bolts when I push on the door
