Post by: Sidekickguy_1 on January 01, 2016, 04:37:46 PM
Hi. I have a 1996 sidekick jlx sport with the 1.8 l. My fuel pump works great i just lost power to it. I don't know what it could be.

Relay, wiring, or ECU - how do you know you lost power to it?

Well it just up and died on the highway like it ran out of gas so I figured it was the pump.  I got it home and dropped the tank and pulled the pump. I then stuck it in a bucket of gas and hooked it up to the battery charger and it pumped just fine. So I got my ohm meter out and had no power to the plug on the pump. Tried switching the relays around between the main and pump relay and still nothing. So I took out the tail light and rear speaker and checked the pink and black wire and I had power there and not to the plug. I direct wired it from there to the pump and got it to run. But I'm still not sure where I lost connection at.

What's between the pink/black wire and the pump?
