Check for spark. One easy way to check this is to pull one of the spark plugs, rehook it to the wire and rest it (ground it) against the engine. Turn engine over and see if there is spark.

Good Luck, Eric

By The Way, if it's there, then it's gone, then it's there, then it's gone, my first suspicion would be that you have dirty ground connections, or some other problem than the coil.

Maybe a fuel supply problem :-/ Or a bad plug/plug wire :-/ My X-90 went from running perfect one second to missing like crazy and barely running the next, low idle/ missing/ and would not start after I turned it off. Next day it started but barely made it to the shop to get the codes pulled. It ended up being a bad plug wire.

The wires are new. could it be the cap or rotor? What i dont under stand is it ran fine then the idle started to drop then it died and wont start

That sounds like running out of gas/ fuel delivery problem. I know nothing about fixing fuel problems on Kicks, besides the basic replace the fuel filter, check the fuel pump etc... mine has never encountered that. Hopefully someone else will have some ideas.

check the fuel pressure  it should be about 40 psi.
don't deadhead the line.
tap into  the supply line so you have good reading and the pressure regulater is in the picture.
