I’m replacing the 88.5, 1.3 with an 89 Sidekick 1.6. I’ve replaced EFI intake manifold with the carb one off the 1.3. Reason being the air intake is higher and I’d have to put a hood scoop on the hood or install a body lift. I may later go EFI once my wallet bounces back. As of now, any major concerns with that swamp? Next questionI’m thinking about replacing the exhaust manifold also, being the 1.6 has got a duel exhaust port and my exhaust pipe is a single. What is the best, cheapest and correct way to do this? I’ve never taking off an exhaust manifold and I’m worried about the nuts and bolts stripping. Should that be a concern or do they come off easy or should I just adapt the two? Any other things I may have over look, I’ll take any information you all have, as I’m new to the ZUKI World. (I did do the oil intake tube mod)

Exhaust nuts and bolts can be easy or hard,
it just depends, I would recommend replacing
the bolts in the head with studs, aluminum
will strip easily when bolts are taken in and out
too much, so save yourself a future headache,
also replace all the nuts and washers with Stainless
Steel metric thread ones, they don't rust and
get stuck like regular ones do.
Use the 1.6 Exhaust Manifold if you have it, better
yet get a header from Hawks or Calmini if you have
the $$
That could wait too, I don't know how well the 1.3 manifold
flows, but you allready have the exhaust out the back so
that might be a better for now if you don't have the funds to
do a new exhaust system too.
